NOBT is auditioning youth extras for roles in NOBT’s upcoming production of the Nutcracker, December 13th-23rd at the Orpheum Theater.

Ages: 6-18

Audition Fee: $20.00

Schedule

Dancers will register online for one of the following time slots.

Ages 6-7

• 1:00-1:30pm

• 1:30-2:00pm

Ages 8-11

• 2:00-2:30pm

• 2:30-3:00pm

• 3:00-3:30pm

Ages 12-13

• 3:30-4:15pm

Ages 14+

• 4:15-5:15pm

Dracula Extras Audition

NOBT is auditioning YOUTH and ADULT extras for roles in NOBT’s upcoming production of Dracula, Oct. 24th, 25th, and 30th at the Orpheum Theater.

Audition Date: Friday, September 12th, 2025

Ages: 10 - Adult

Audition Fee: $20.00

Schedule:

• 5:40pm-6:00pm: Check-In (Please bring a completed AUDITION FORM with you)

• 6:00-7:30pm: Audition

Adult auditionees will be released early (approximately 6:30pm). Youth Auditioners will be released at 7:30pm

Returning cast members: Returning cast members do not need to attend the audition. Please reply to the email send to you about interest.

Participation Commitment

Youth and Adult extras must be available for all performances.

Theater rehearsals are MANDATORY.

Extras are allowed one (1) rehearsal miss for regular studio rehearsals.

Performances:

• Friday, Oct. 24th: 8:00pm

• Saturday, Oct. 25th at 2:00pm and 8:00pm

• Thursday, October 30th at 8:00pm

Tentative Preliminary Rehearsal Schedule:

Saturdays: 

Times TBA. Nutcracker rehearsals will also be ongoing on some of these dates so we'll need to juggle space and time. Youth cast will be able to participate in both Dracula and Nutcracker.

• Sept 20th (no rehearsals Sep 27th)

• Oct. 4th, 11th, 18th

Theater Week:

• Tentative weekday run though(s) TBD at studio

• Thursday, Oct. 23th at the Orpheum Theater for Dress Rehearsal

NOBT COMPANY AUDITIONS

2025-2026 Season: No longer accepting applications

Audition Date: Sunday, March 23rd, 2025

Time: 11am-2:00pm

Audition is by invitation only (See Pre-Audition information below). Only serious candidates prepared to move to New Orleans should apply.

Candidates must be current US Citizens or eligible for employment in the United States.

Pre-Audition Video Audition Information

NOBT will accept videos as preliminary audition materials for potential company artists. If the company is interested in seeing more, the in-person audition will be requested following the receipt of video audition materials.

NOBT will review all video pre-audition materials submitted through March 1st for the March audition date (TBD). After that date, NOBT staff will only go through any submitted materials as needed.
