Adult Division

Whether you are looking for a great new work out, or want to fine tune your classical technique, Schramel Conservatory of Dance offers all levels of adult ballet classes on an ongoing basis. Classes $18 each, and reduced rates for professionals are available.

Morning Open Classes (Limited Space Available)

  • Wednesday: Int/Adv Ballet: 9:30-11:00am (Denise)

  • Friday: Adv Ballet: 9:30-11:00am (Oliver or Faculty)

  • Saturday: Int/Adv Ballet: 10:00-11:30am (Marjorie/Greg Schramel)

Evening Open Classes:

  • Monday: Int/Adv Ballet: 6:30-8:00pm (Aubrey)

  • Monday: Beg. Adult Ballet: 6:30-7:45pm (Drew)

  • Tuesday: Adult Beg/Int Ballet: 6:30-8:00pm (Drew)

  • Tuesday: Teen/Adult Contemporary 6:30-8:00pm (Aaron)

New Students:

If you are new to the studio, you will need to fill out an Adult Release Form to participate in class.

Current and Returning Students:

All students must submit an updated release form on a yearly basis. Please submit your new release before your first class in 2026. Release Form

 

Dress Code

 
 

There is no specific dress code for adult classes. We encourage comfortable clothing such as leotards, tights, and leggings or athletic wear. Canvas or leather ballet slippers are required. All dancewear and supplies can be found at Carmel’s Dancewear in Metairie.

Class Protocols

 
  • All classes must be registered in advance.

  • Morning Classes: Door will open no later than 15 minutes before class start time and will be locked at class start time (No Late Entry)

  • Evening Classes: Door will open no later than 6:15pm, door will be locked at 6:30pm (No Late Entry).

  • All students must register and pay for class in advance. Enrollment is open until class start time, however, any cancellations must be made through the website 6 hours before class start (otherwise, you will still be charged for class). Once you enroll for a class, the bottom of your confirmation email will have have instructions on how to reschedule or cancel your class purchase if necessary.


Adult Summer Intensive

This year, SCOD will be offering a beginner and beginning/intermediate option for our intensive this year in addition to our option for intermediate and advanced students! No experience required in alternative dance styles for either level. Contact us for questions regarding placement.

Full week participation required to secure a place in the program. Partial attendance only available if space allows, tbd.

July 20th- 24th:

Beginning and Beginning/Intermediate Adult Intensive

Time: 5:45-8:45pm Monday - Friday

Geared towards beginner and early intermediate level ballet students, this program is perfect for those students who want to push themselves in their training and receive individualized attention, while also exploring other styles of dance in a fun, non-judgemental setting. This program is not designed for absolute beginners in ballet, but dancers who have experience with the basic ballet fundamentals. No prior experience in other dance styles (contemporary, jazz, etc) required for acceptance.

July 27th-31st:

Intermediate and Intermediate/Adv Adult Intensive

Time: 5:45-8:45pm Monday - Friday

Geared towards Intermediate and Intermediate/Advanced level ballet students with several years experience looking for individualized attention to strengthen and push their technique. No prior experience in other dance styles (contemporary, jazz, etc) required for acceptance.

Pricing

1 Week Program

  • Earlybird : $250 (through May 31st)

  • Regular : $300 (June 1st Onward)

2 Week Program*

Only intended for intermediate or intermediate/adv students who would like to work slower at the more beginner level for the first week. Otherwise, dancers should select the one week program that best matches their experience level.

  • Earlybird : $450 (through May 31st)

  • Regular : $500 (June 1st Onward)

  • 7:45-8:45pm: Rotating Class*

*Rotating Classes may include Contemporary, Character, Broadway Jazz, Ballet Repertoire, Pointe (if appropriate), Mime, Injury Prevention, and Dance History.
