Our theme this year is MAY FLOWERS. Your child will learn their dances in their class. Dress rehearsal will be Friday, May 1st with performance on Saturday, May 2nd on Ursuline’s Campus. See below for all details regarding the recital, costumes, tickets, etc.

PERFORMANCE TIMES:

This year, there will be two separate seatings. Families will purchase tickets for the seating in which your child is performing. Families who have dancers spanning both recital seatings will receive two tickets when purchasing, one for each recital seating.

 

     First Seating: 7:00pm (Doors open 6:30pm)

Students in Pre-Ballet, Primary Ballet, Ballet/Tap/Jazz, Tap 1, and Tap 2: The first seating in the recital is our youngest dancers (see order of the show). After this seating (ending approximately 7:40pm), parents will pick up their children to take them home. Dancers with another piece in the second half will stay for the second seating. Dancers with an older sibling performing in the second seating may join their family in the audience free of charge for the second seating.

 

     Second Seating: 8:00pm (Doors open 7:45)

Students in Ballet 1, Ballet 2, Ballet 2-3, Ballet 3, Ballet 3-4, Ballet 4, Pre and Beginning Pointe, Ballet IV Pointe, Int/Adv Pointe, Youth Jazz, and Contemporary. Students in the second seating will stay backstage for both performance seatings. Parents will drop off their students before the first seating (see arrival times below) and then leave to return for 8:00pm seating.

 

PURCHASING TICKETS:

Tickets will be sold at the studio starting April 13th for $10 a ticket. This year, no tickets are included in your recital fee. All tickets for attendees must be purchased (lap babies under 2 do not need a ticket). Please reference the recital order of the show to be completely sure of which seating you need to purchase tickets for. Please ask the front desk staff for clarification if needed when purchasing your tickets.

  

COSTUMES:

Costumes will be distributed during classes starting the week of April 13th

Don’t forget to look for hair pieces with the costume (girls). Please try on your costume at home as soon as you receive it and then store in a safe location until the dress rehearsal date.

  • Pack an extra pair of tights in your dancer’s bag just in case!

 

DRESS REHEARSAL MAY 1st GENERAL INFO:

  • Dress rehearsal will take place on May 1st, 2026 AT URSULINE’s THEATER between 4:30-8:00 (see details below under times!)

  • Please have your child dressed and ready for their time slot for rehearsal. Rehearsal times are approximate, and we may run slightly early or late.

  • Please have your child’s hair prepared in a high slicked back bun (see instructions) and with head piece if provided in costume packet.

  • Each child will need clean tights and ballet slippers: Girls: Pink tights with pink ballet slippers OR skin tone tights with skin tone ballets slippers- tights and shoes must match! We suggest bringing a backup pair of tights as well. Boys: Black ballet slippers

  • You will need to WAIT IN THE AUDIENCE WITH YOUR CHILD during your child’s dress rehearsal slot. Teachers will collect dancers from the audience area to bring backstage for their rehearsals on stage. Younger dancers, please find your class and sit together in the audience to help teachers keep track of and easily gather their class. When they are done you are free to leave the theater. Older dancers: be thoughtful about what/how much you're bringing to the theatre, as space will be limited. 

  • Parking: The theatre is located on the corner of Willow and State Street. There is a small parking lot (entrance on State Street) and surrounding neighborhood street parking.

 

ARRIVAL TIMES FOR DRESS REHEARSAL by CLASS LEVEL: Friday, May 1st

  • 4:30pm ARRIVAL: ALL Pre-ballet, Primary Ballet, Ballet/Tap/Jazz, Tap 1, Tap 2 should be in theater and ready for rehearsal between approximately 5:00-6:00pm. Rehearsal will run in show order, and you will be released after your class has rehearsed.

  • 5:30pm ARRIVAL: Ballet I, II, II/III, III, III/IV, IV, Beg. Pointe, Ballet IV Pointe should be in theater by the arrival time and ready for rehearsal between approximately 6:00-7:30pm. You will be released after your class rehearses, and rehearsal will run in the order of the show. Remember- FULL COSTUMES, FULL HAIR, and make-up.

  • 7:00pm ARRIVAL: Adv Pointe, Youth Jazz, Contemporary, and Senior Solos should be in theater by the arrival time and ready for rehearsal between approximately 7:30- 8:00pm. We may be running early if things go smoothly. You will be released after your class rehearses.

  • 8:00 rehearsal ends.

 

CLASS SCHEDULE THE REST OF SEMESTER

  • April 13th- 30th: SCOD will have normal classes

  • May 1st: Dress Rehearsal at Ursuline

  • May 2nd: Performance at Ursuline

  • May 4th-9th: CINDERELLA: NO CLASSES

  • May 11th- 23rd: Normal class schedule (end of semester)

 

PERFORMANCE DAY ARRIVAL TIMES TO THEATER

May 2nd, 2026 URSULINE THEATER

  • Pre-Ballet, Primary Ballet, Ballet I, II, II-III, III, Ballet/Tap/Jazz, Tap 1, Tap 2, & Youth Jazz should be dropped off at the stage door between 6:15pm and 6:30pm

  • Ballet III/IV, IV, Advanced dancers, + Contemporary should arrive to the theater at 5:15. Warm-up on stage 5:30-6:15pm.

 

HAIR INSTRUCTIONS FOR FEMALE DANCERS:

  • High slicked back bun. Boys should have hair neatly combed away from their faces.

This is great training for you if you ever want your child to take part in NOBT’s Nutcracker.


Recital Fees:

A recital fee of $150 is due per student, which includes: Recital Participation Fee, 1 Costume

Families will multiple children will owe the $150 recital per student

Tickets are not included in the recital fee. They will be purchased separately.

Extra costume Fee: $50/ costume

Students who are in multiple classes may owe additional costume fees, at $50 per additional costume. See details below


Costume Breakdowns:

Pre-Ballet classes (Mon/Tues/Sat): Each Pre-Ballet class will have a unique costume

Primary Classes (Mon/Tues/Wed/Sat): Each Primary classes will have a unique costume

Ballet/Tap/Jazz (Tues/Fri): Each Ballet/Tap/Jazz class will have a unique costume (same costume will be used for ballet and tap performances)

Ballet 1 classes will share the same costume

  • Ballet 1 Wed: 4:15pm

  • Ballet 1 Thurs (7-8 yrs): 4:15pm

  • Ballet 1 Thurs (8.5+ yrs): 4:15pm

Ballet 2 and 2-3 classes will share the same costume:

  • Ballet 2 Wed 5:15pm

  • Ballet 2 Thurs 4:15pm

  • Ballet 2-3 Mon: 5:15pm

  • Ballet 2-3 Tues: 5:15pm

Ballet 3, 3 Pointe, 3-4, 4, and 4 Pointe classes will share the same costume:

  • Ballet 3 Tues 5:00pm

  • Ballet 3-4 Monday: 5:00pm

  • Ballet 3-4 Thursday: 5:15pm

  • Beginning Pointe Thursday: 6:45pm (Katherine)

  • Beginning and Pre-Pointe Thursday: 6:45pm (Drew)

  • Ballet 4 Pointe Wed 5:15pm

  • Ballet 4 Thurs 5:15pm

  • Ballet 4 Friday 4:15pm

Int/Adv Pointe (Wed 6:30pm) will have one unique costume. (Mon/Thurs/Sat Int/Adv classes will stay dedicated to technique class and will not participate in the recital)

Contemporary (Tues 6:30pm) will have one unique costume

Youth Jazz (Wed. 6:30pm) will have one unique costume

Tap 1 (Wed 5:30pm) will have one unique costume

Tap 2 (Wed 4:15pm) will have one unique costume


Remember, the first costume is included in your recital fee of $150. Extra costumes (if needed) are $50 each

Class Attendance Policy:

Dancers are expected to maintain consistent attendance in order to participate in the recital. Dancers with excessive absences (missing more than 25% of classes) may be removed from recital participation at the discretion of the SCOD staff.
